Jakarta (Antara) - Four people were killed when a ship caught fire in Bangka Belitung province on Thursday evening, said the police. "Out of 197 passengers on board, four have been killed," said Head of the Analysis and Evaluation Section of the National Police Headquarters' Public Relations Division Sr Comr Rusli Hedyaman on Friday. He added that the deceased individuals are Fani (2), Zubir (73), Huzaida (49), and Ipah Nurhasanah (37). As of Friday morning, rescue workers have evacuated 176 victims registered on the manifest and eight others who were not on the list of the manifest. Thirteen passengers have not been found. Members of the evacuation and rescue team are still carrying out evacuation and looking for the missing passengers. MV Bahari Express ship 8C caught fire at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Selat Nasik waters, about five miles from Tanjung Pandan, Belitung. The fire occurred when the ship was about to leave Pangkalbalam seaport, Bangka, for Tanjung Pandan. (*)
