Death Toll in Bogor Bus Accident Reaches 19 People

Bogor, W Java 22 (Antara) - The death toll in the accident of Giri Indah bus that plunged into a valley in Tugu Utara village, Bogor District on Wednesday (Aug 21) reached 19 passengers, police has said. "The victim of the 19 fatalities who died in Sanatorium hospital in Cisarua, was identified as Yuliana Kurniawan," head of the Cisarua sub-district police office, commissioner Hadi S, said here on Wednesday. According to him, Yuliana died on Wednesday at 4.22 p.m. Western Indonesia Standar time (WIB). Meanwhile, the mortuary on-duty staff Nurdini noted that 15 of the 19 fatalities have been identified as Toto Sudarto, Sandra, Lidia Manik, Hana, Tom Simon, H Ajid Samsudi, Ani, Ginokon Sihotang, Marcel, Anton, Ines, Eflin Tompi, Nurlina, Femy and Yuliana Kurniawan. The Giri Indah tourist bus plunged into a valley in a mountain resort in Bogor District, West Java province. The bus, Giri Indah, carrying 53 passengers rolled down the valley near the Ciliwung river in the village of Tugu Utara in the sub-district of Cisarua. Several other passengers were injured and four of them have to be treated medically at the Centra Medika hospital in Cibinong, police said. (*)
