Jakarta - Japan and Taiwan are sharing their knowledge and experience on the application One Village One Product (OVOP) program with Indonesia.
"On this occasion, I am happy to learn that there will be some Japanese and Taiwanese speakers. I myself have already seen how the Japanese are building OVOP," Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Businesses Minister Sjarifuddin Hasan said in Jakarta Monday in a National Meeting of the Development of Rural Superior Products One Village One Product (OVOP) through cooperatives.
He asked cooperatives, small and medium businesses from the provinces taking part in the forum to follow and develop OVOP optimally from Japanese and Taiwanese representative offices.
The minister also hoped from the meeting that cooperative and small and medium business players would develop the OVOP system.
He said if the superior products of the villages are developing with success, people's welfare will increase and poverty as well as unemployment would be reduced.
He added that this has already been proven in many other countries like Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Thailand.
"And more than 51 countries in the world have adopted this OVOP concept," he said.
The minister said that in Indonesia the development of rural superior products is based on local and global orientation while developing creativity, innovation, and autonomy. (*)
