Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is encouraging close synergy of academicians, industries, and the government in accelerating the downstreaming of research results that have an impact on the community.
"The ministry is carrying out the Asta Cita missions through transformative higher education that is oriented towards the improvement of access, quality, relevance, and impact on sustainable national development," the ministry's Director General of Higher Education Khairul Munadi noted in a statement here on Tuesday.
Munadi explained that strengthening human resources and research is the key to innovation-based economic development, as mandated in the Asta Cita missions as national priorities initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.
This aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology to realize responsible higher education empowerment, value-added research and development, and the use of science and technology for sustainable socio-economic transformation.
In this regard, he expressed hope that higher education can become a driver of breakthroughs by optimizing the use of technology to improve the welfare of the community.
He further affirmed that synergy between academics, industry, and government is crucial in accelerating the downstreaming of research to the productive sector.
"Higher education institutions must be a game changer in sustainable socio-ecological and economic transformation by upholding academic integrity, utilizing technology, and prioritizing interdisciplinary collaboration," he remarked.
Munadi also underlined that college graduates are not only required to have academic competence but must also have work ethics, character, and global competitiveness.
To this end, he underscored that a learning model that emphasizes the integration of knowledge and interdisciplinary collaboration is indispensable in responding to future challenges.
