Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid stated that collaboration with India will be a key pillar in achieving a modern and efficient digital government in Indonesia.
"Government digitalization is no longer an option but an urgent need. Indonesia is ready to collaborate with India to adopt and adapt to cutting-edge technology, especially in the development of digital identity," Hafid noted in a statement issued on Wednesday.
She remarked that digital transformation is one of the main priorities of President Prabowo Subianto's administration, making concrete international cooperation, particularly with India, a leader in digital technology, essential.
She also praised India's readiness to share its insights on digital identity programs, such as Aadhaar, with Indonesia. She deemed Aadhaar relevant for implementation in Indonesia, providing a key foundation to enhance public services, transparency, and efficiency.
"Indonesia not only needs technology but also proven strategies for success. This cooperation must produce concrete solutions for Indonesia," Hafid stated.
In addition to developing digital identity, she expressed hope that cooperation with India would encompass the development of digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and human resource capacity-building. These measures, she added, will bolster digital transformation in Indonesia.
Strategic collaboration with India is expected to expedite the realization of President Prabowo's Asta Cita (eight main missions) while positioning Indonesia as a global player in the digital age.
"The bilateral relations between the two countries have proven to be solid and mutually beneficial. Now is the time to advance further and drive significant change in this digital era," Hafid noted.
