Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is synergizing with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to bolster social protection and security programs for the community in 2025.
To build synergy, the two ministries held a meeting at the office of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jakarta on Thursday.
Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said that the two ministries discussed several things at the meeting, including assistance programs that could potentially experience changes in 2025.
The changes may be in the form of an addition or reduction in the number of beneficiaries of social assistance, which, so far, has been distributed through state-owned banks and state-owned postal company Pos Indonesia.
"We also discussed obstacles that have been experienced so far," he informed here on Thursday.
He further said that the meeting also discussed increasing the efficiency of the distribution of social assistance in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost areas, which are still difficult to reach by banking services.
In addition, the minister said that the meeting discussed empowerment efforts for beneficiary families so that their condition can improve and they can become independent, so they no longer require social assistance.
Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo affirmed that his ministry is ready to support the acceleration of social assistance as well as the revision of beneficiaries in 2025 by improving infrastructure efficiency as early as possible.
"We definitely will support the programs of the Ministry of Social Affairs and hope that we can integrate these several programs so they can be more effective in reducing the poverty rate in Indonesia," he said.
