South Lampung (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Thursday inspected the facilities and medical services at Dr. Bob Bazar Regional Public Hospital in South Lampung, Lampung.
His visit aimed to ensure the hospital’s readiness to receive and operate the advanced medical equipment planned by the central government.
Jokowi emphasized that the hospital must take preparatory steps because the government plans to send large-sized medical equipment that requires spacious rooms.

The equipment includes devices for catheterization, mammograms, CT scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
The government will begin delivering the specified equipment in September of this year.
"I have been informed that a room for CT scans is under preparation. I will request assistance from the district head and the governor to prepare rooms for catheterization and mammogram labs," Jokowi stated.
The hospital's director, Reny Indrayani, noted that the health facility is staffed by 26 specialist doctors and offers relatively comprehensive services.
She mentioned that the hospital needs specialized doctors for diagnosing and treating heart diseases, neurological disorders, and cancers. Additionally, there is a shortage of cardiologists, neurologists, and oncologists.
Indriyani expressed hope that the government will assist in expanding facilities and increasing room capacity.
"Currently, we handle approximately 400–500 inpatients each month, but we only have 250 beds," she added.
