Pamekasan, E Java, (Antara) - The Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of the District Government of Pamekasan, East Java Province, found foreign workers, who had entered Pamekasan and worked in several companies in the region.
Head of Disnakartrans Pamekasan Arif Handayani noted here on Saturday that they had found foreign workers after directly monitoring several companies in Pamekasan.
"We found two companies in Pamekasan that employed foreign workers," he stated.
One company operates cellular network towers, while the other is an ice cream company.
"There are a total of seven foreign workers here," he added.
According to Handayani, the number of foreign workers in Pamekasan District has reduced as compared to nine in 2017.
"The latest information showed that foreign workers have returned to their country," he noted.
Meanwhile, the seven foreign workers, still in Pamekasan, are under special surveillance of Disnakertrans of Pamekasan.
Handayani also explained that his side will coordinate with the companies that employ foreign workers as based on the results of interviews with employees in the company, they have worked for over one year.
"We will also coordinate with the related parties over the presence of foreign workers in Pamekasan, especially related to residence permits and other documents," he explained.(*)
