Surabaya, E.Java, March 31 (Antara) - The Surabaya City Administration, East Java province and the Swiss government have established cooperation in several fields, including vocational education, transportation and waste management systems.
"Seeing the large amount of garbage that Surabaya produces efforts must be made to process them into useful products," Swiss Honorary Consul Christopher Tjokrosetio, said here, Thursday.
Christopher Tjokrosetio and Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia Yvonne Baumann to Surabaya weregreeted by Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini upon arrival in the city.
The cooperation on vocational education program and waste management has been discussed between the Swiss representatives and the Provincial Administration of East Java, while waste management will be discussed soon.
Head of Foreign Affairs Section at the administration, Yanuar Hermawan, said cooperation in the field of waste management will be discussed soon as in addition to Surabaya, there are several other cities that will also be involved in it one of which is Sidoarjo in East Java.
In a meeting with Mayor Risma, the Swiss Representatives praised her works and also discussed cooperation in the field of transportation.
"The most excellent transport connectivity is in Geneva, Switzerland. There are many topics we have also discussed, including the possibility of training in Switzerland," he said. (*)
