Banda Aceh, (Antara)- An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale jolted Banda Aceh, Aceh Darussalam Province, on Friday at 2:19 a.m. local time.
The tremor's epicenter was located at 5.36 degrees northern latitude and 94.66 degrees eastern longitude, 76 km southwest of Banda Aceh and at a depth of 89 km, according to information from the National Meteorological, Geophysics and Climatology Agency (BMKG).
The quake was felt quite strongly by local residents, but had no potential to trigger a tsunami.(*)
