Surabaya (Antara Jatim) - Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini made an impromptu inspection of rivers and waterworks in the city's five different areas on Thursday after she was inaugurated for a second term the day before.
During the impromptu inspection, the newly-inducted mayor was accompanied by head of the city's public works, highway construction, maintenance and drainage office Erna Purnawati, head of the general affairs and protocol section Wiwiek Widiyati and head of the public relations service M. Fikser.
"I come to directly monitor the locations to teach our colleagues of the Surabaya public works, highway construction, maintenance and drainage office to be able to analyze any problem. We happen to have technical background so we can discuss directly in the field to find solution," she said.
Risma inspected a river near Dharmahusada Indah area to monitor its water flow. Afterwards, she continued to inspect waterworks in front of Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) campus where she obtained her engineering degree.
The mayor later inspected the pedestrian bridge on Mulyosari Street, the river in front of Super Depo Sutorejo and the pedestrian bridge on Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno Street. (*)
