Kuta, Bali (Antara) -- The Ngurah Rai immigration office in Bali province has deported 15 foreign nationals, who are models and their crew from the U. S and Canada, for abusing their permits of stay. "All the foreign nationals came to Bali using the visa-on-arrival facility. However, they abused the visas by having photo shoots," a spokesman for the immigration office, Mohamad Soleh, said here on Tuesday. While 11 of the 15 foreign nationals are from the U. S., four are from Canada, he added. Nine of them are models and six are crew members. The crew members from Canada included hairdresser Dina Morel, makeup artist Aurelie Elisabeth Renout, and social media officer Chloe Terae Thomson, while those from the U. S were manager Luis Munoz, marketing officer Ronald Hansen and lighting officer Mariel Dulgicer. Photo shoots were carried out in a number of places, including in a luxury villa in Canggu area, in Seminjak area, and in the zoo in Gianyar district. "We arrested them on Friday (April 10) at around 9:00 p. m. after monitoring them for two days from Wednesday (April 8)," Soleh revealed. Based on results of the investigation, evidence and documents, the models and crew members belonged to a group that carried out activities called "paradise challenges," the spokesman pointed out. Moreover, the foreign nationals were deported in stages from Monday (April 13), he added. "Two of them were deported in the first phase on Monday, and three others will be deported tonight," Soleh affirmed. (*) Reported by Dewa Wiguna
