BPK Finds Cases with Potential to Inflict Massive State Losses

Jakarta (Antara) -- The State Audit Board (BPK) has found 4,900 cases related to the management of state finances, which involve violations of regulations, the BPK chief said. These cases caused state losses and have the potential to inflict even more losses and shortage of state financial receipts amounting to as much as Rp25.74 trillion, BPK Chief Harry Azhar Azis stated at a plenary session of the legislature here on Tuesday. "The BPK's recommendations regarding these cases include handing over of assets and transfer of money to the state treasury, regional governments, or companies," Azis noted. The plenary session was held so that the BPK could present the results of its auditing to the House of Representatives. The BPK chief also disclosed that the agency found as many as 2,802 cases of disobedience and 621 cases of weaknesses in the administration, which inflicted losses amounting to some Rp5.13 trillion. "With regard to these cases, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) issued recommendations to improve the built-in control system, administrative actions, and other corrective measures," Azis affirmed.
