Jakarta (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it would get to the root of corruption cases in the energy and mineral resources (ESDM) ministry.
"We are after anyone not only a son of president but anyone wielding enough power in the ESDM ministry," KPK chairman Abraham Samad on the sideline of a National Conference on Corruption Eradication here on Tuesday.
KPK is handling at least three corruption cases in the energy sector -- socialization activities, health bicycle and maintenance of the office building of the ESDM secretariat with suspect former secretary general of the ministry Waryono Karno, former chairman of the Commission VII of the Parliament dealing with energy Sutan Bhatoegana, who was a chairman of the Democrat Party and former ESDM Minister Jero Wacik .
The three suspects have not been detained by KPK .
"The corruption cases in the ESDM ministry have long chain. KPK is keen on disentangling the complex knot of the cases. Therefore we need quite a long time," Abraham said. (*)
