Jakarta (Antara) -- The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction in the House of Representatives (DPR) is opposed to the recent increase in the price of subsidized fuels, which is aimed at boosting people's economic growth. "The PKS faction is of the opinion that the subsidized fuel price hike will raise prices significantly, worsen economic growth and increase unemployment and poverty rates," a member of the PKS faction, Jazuli Juwaini, said here on Tuesday. He added that the high fuel price hike would significantly raise the cost of living of the people. "The Rp2,000 per liter rise in the price of subsidized fuels will raise food prices by 15 percent, similar to the hikes seen in 2013 when full-year inflation rate stood at a range of 8 to 10 percent," he stated.
