Rejanglebong, Bengkulu (Antara) - Only 50 Sumatran tigers (Panthera tigris sumatrae) are believed to survive in Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), which is located in four Sumatran provinces. The four provinces are Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, and West Sumatra, Zulfadli, head of the TNKS' data section, said here on Tuesday. The tiger population has been decreasing due to poaching, illegal logging, and illegal mining activities, as well as human encroachment. The population of elephants and rhinoceros in the national park have also declined. (*)
