Zionist Might Defeat Jokowi's Presidential Candidady: Observer

Jakarta (Antara) - The international Zionist network might defeat Joko Widodo's presidential candidacy, following his statement during the last presidential candidates' debate that he supported Palestine's full independence, a political observer said.
"In the history of Indonesian leadership after Soekarno (the first president of Indonesia), only Joko Widodo (popularly known as Jokowi) had bravely acclaimed his support for Palestine's complete independence and it was delivered during an official debate," said a political observer from Trisakti Study Center, Fahmi Habsy, here on Wednesday.
As a consequence, Fahmi explained that the Zionist network feared they might be threatened if he wins the presidential election, and possibly will try to defeat his candidacy as the next leader of Indonesia.
Moreover, Fahmi added, Jokowi had mentioned that if he wins the election, his government will open a diplomatic office in Palestine, whether in Ramallah or Gaza, following other 44 countries.
"If this happens, Indonesia will be the first country in ASEAN that has opened a diplomatic office in Palestine," he noted.
According to Fahmi, the Zionist had been trying to discourage Indonesia from opening a diplomatic office in Palestine as they considered the country to be the largest Muslim population in the world.
"They fear that if a diplomatic office is opened in Palestine, it will stimulate a wave of support, particularly from Islamic countries, to push Israel in recognizing Palestine's independence and accepting the peace agreement," he pointed out. (*)
