Li Xuerui Optimistic to Win Indonesia badminton Open 2014

Jakarta (Antara) - Chinese women's single player Li Xuerui is hopeful she will win a champion title at the BCA Indonesia Badminton Open Super Series Premier. "I am optimistic I will win the final round tomorrow," she said here on Saturday. Li Xuerui, who is ranked first in the world, will meet the talented player from Thailand, Ratchanok Intanon, in the final round of the tournament, which is offering US$750,000 in total prizes. She spoke with optimism because in the past seven matches against the Thai player, she has won five of them. Xuerui was beaten by Ratchanok Intanon in the World Championship 2013. She said, however, that she would be vary careful because the Thai player is known for her perseverance. "She also has a strong defense and her smash is good. I must be careful about them," Xuerui said. In the semifinal round, Xuerui beat Nichaon Jindapon in a straight set 21-19, 21-10.(*)
