Medan, N Sumatra, April 2 (Antara) - At least 30 illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka are still detained by the authorities in Medan. The authorities impose extra strict control at the Belawan immigration detention center where the illegal immigrants are held, head of the detention center Purbanus Sinaga said. "They are all in good health and are well fee," Sinaga said. He said there are 212 illegal immigrants of various nationalities at the detention center. They include from Afghanistan (19), Bangladesh (6), Palestine (17), Myanmar(54), Somalia (35), and Sri-Lanka (30),Iran (17), Sudan (17), Eritrea (2), South Africa(1), Pakistan (9), Taiwan (1) and Nepal (1). Almost every month, there are always new illegal immigrants caught and sent to the detention center, Sinaga said. (*)
