Cikeas, W Java (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led a limited cabinet meeting here on Saturday to discuss several issues, including the law on minerals and coal. The president, who was accompanied by Vice President Boediono along with several ministers, began the closed door meeting at 5.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard time. Meanwhile, Industry Minister M.S. Hidayat said in Jakarta on Friday (Jan 10) that the government will take a decision on the law on minerals and coal on Saturday. "Yes, definitely tomorrow it should be conclusive because it (the law) will be effective on January 12," Hidayat stated. He, however, believed that two things would not change, namely the law's mandate to stop the export of raw materials and the processing of raw materials to assure that the country receives the proper added value. "The process of the added value will be formulated," the minister said. (*)
