Denpasar, Bali (Antara) - Traditional art from various provinces in the country could be presented in unique packages to attract tourists, according to Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu. "The displaying of different arts from various regions can attract foreign tourists to visit various regions," the minister said here on Tuesday. The minister made the remarks before opening 'Arts Summit Indonesia VII 2013', which was designed as a presentation for the delegates of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) at the Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) campus here. She noted that different art presented in special packages might attract tourists and generate revenue, as well as serve to preserve and develop local art. Minister Marie also hosted a dinner party for a number of APEC delegates before being entertained by the performers. ISI Rector Dr I Gede Arya Sugartha said that the delegates sat through five performances of percussion arts and dances. Three performances were arranged by ISI Denpasar and two by ISI Bandung (West Java). (*)
