RI's Muslim Scholar Zakiyah Darajat Passed Away

Jakarta - National Muslim scholar Prof Dr Zakiyah Darajat passed away here on Tuesday at 09.30 A.M at Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital, Ciputat, Tangerang, at the age of 84 years. Born in Ampek Angkek, West Sumatra province, in November 6, 1929, Zakiyah is known for her interest in psychology and religious affairs. Apart from being a professor in psychology at the Syarif Hidayatullah Islamic University, she is also an active author who has produced tens of books about psychology. Zakiyah is also known as politician and Islamic preacher. (*)
