Indoensia Still Has Great Potency for Agriculture Investment: BASF

Sanur, Bali - Business Area Director for ASEAN Crop Protection of BASF Chemical Company Leon Van Mullekom said that Indonesia still has great potency for agriculture investment as the government urges food sustainability.
"I am really sure that currently, Indonesia is the fifth biggest agricultural producer in the world. That is compared to China, United States and Brazil," said Leon after the Top Ciencia Symposium in Sanur, Bali, Tuesday evening.
He noted that the responsibility of Indonesia is also to producing food for the people which have to be fulfilled by some efforts of related parties.
He said that Indonesia also targeting to become the self sufficient country for food and agriculture products.
"I believe the government and Indonesian people can reach the target by doing good collaboration between stakeholders and the real implementation," he said.
He added that BASF party is ready to cooperate with the government to enhance food sustainability in Indonesia.
"We have commit in crop protection products, supporting the excellent research of agriculture as well as doing research on nitrogen technology. I believe that Indonesian agriculture has great potency to developed," he said. (*)
