TNI General Staff Chief Inspects Security Arrangements

Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA) - The National Defense Forces (TNI)'s General Staff Chief , Lt Gen. Suryo Prabowo, on Saturday inspected security systems and arrangements for the 19th ASEAN Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali.
During the inspection, Prabowo was accompanied by Udayana Military Commander Maj Gen Leonard Louk and Bali Police Chief Insp Gen Totoy Herawan Indra.
Prabowo toured the venues and relted facilities for the 19th ASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit at the Bali International Convention Center in Nusa Dua.
In the runup to the ASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit, security in a number of main streets leading to and around the conference venues have alrady been tightened.
Soldiers and police were seen on guard at many locations, especially at Ngurah Rai International Airpot, Nusa Dua resort, and a number of main streets.
As part of their preparations to sensure the summits' security, Bali's military and police commands conducted a joint drill partcipated in by around 15,000 soldiers and policemen.
Meanwhile, Udayana Military Commander Maj Gen Leonard said all security personnel should carry out their tasks well in accordance with existing procedures.
"The security systems and arrangements we have put in place are all necessary to uphold the image of state and nation, and therefore all security personnel must carry out their tasks well, seriously, and professionally in accordance with existing procedures," he said.(*)
