Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - Some 100 medical workers have been readied for the opening ceremony of the PON XX National Games scheduled on Saturday (Oct 2) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura District, Papua.
"Around 100 medical workers would be stationed within and outside the stadium area during the opening ceremony," person-in-charge of the
clinic of the Lukas Enembe Stadium Dr Rindang Pribadi told ANTARA on Saturday.
The medical workers will be stationed across all entry points, verification centres, and stadium tribunes, Pribadi remarked.
A total of 24 medical workers, including surgeons and emergency specialists, will be deployed at the XX Clinic to provide emergency treatments if the need arises, he informed.
The Health Ministry has also provided cardiologists and sports specialists at the PON venues, according to the person-in-charge.
Apart from personnel assistance, five ambulances, two transfer ambulances, and two mini-ICU emergency vehicles are available for any emergencies during the opening ceremony and sporting matches within the stadium complex, Pribadi noted.
"Nonetheless, we would ensure our health workers are always alert for any possible emergency that may occur. We are optimistic that the PON XX would go smoothly with zero accidents," the doctor stated.
The opening ceremony of the PON XX is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Lukas Enembe Stadium in Jayapura.
Strict health protocols and security measures have been set in place on account of President Joko Widodo's attendance at the stadium to open the ceremony.
The PON committee also confirmed the authority has set the maximum attendance at 25 percent out of the maximum capacity of 40 thousand spectators at the Lukas Enembe Stadium. (*)
