Malang, East Java, (Antara) - East Java`s Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) and New Zealand`s Auckland University of Technology (AUT) have agreed to cooperate to boost the output of international publications of some 40 lecturers at the UMM.
Soeparto, UMM manager for international cooperation, remarked here on Thursday that the cooperation will be implemented through a workshop on international publication for 40 lecturers of the university next July.
"Two experts from AUT will be part of the workshop to lend guidance and encourage the lecturers of UMM to enable them to be more creative and innovative in churning out papers, so that they can be published internationally," Soeparto noted.
The participants of the workshop will be lecturers who have written interesting scientific papers to be published internationally, according to Soeparto.
"After the workshop, more UMM lecturers are expected to be able to produce international journals. It is our hope that after the workshop, the journals of at least five to ten of the participants would be published internationally," he affirmed.
In addition to cooperation on increasing international publications, both sides have also agreed to cooperate in the field of ASEAN Studies. Such form of cooperation would be realized during a seminar on the ASEAN Community scheduled to be held in October 2016 at the UMM.(*)
