Jakarta, (Antara) - Indonesia's Naval Chief of Staff, Admiral Ade Supandi, received his Chinese counterpart Admiral Wu Shengli, who came to pay a courtesy call at the Navy Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Thursday.
Admiral Wu was officially welcomed during a military ceremony by Admiral Ade upon his arrival at the navy headquarters.
The call was part of Admiral Wu's visit to receive a Jalasena Utama honorary medal pinned by Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo, at the TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap.
The medal was awarded for the good cooperation and relations that have developed between the governments of Indonesia and China so far, especially for the progress and improvement in military relations between the two countries.
Admiral Ade on the occasion expressed gratitude to the Chinese navy for having actively sent delegations to various events organized by the Indonesian navy and hoped for increased cooperation between the two countries' navies.
Admiral Wu expressed thanks for the warm welcome and commended the good cooperation that had been developed so far between the two countries' navies.(*)
