"Alutsista" Procurement must be Right on Target: Minister

Palembang, S Sumatra (Antara)- The procurement of the main armament system (Alutsista) must be right on target for the interest of the state and nation, according to Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu. While giving directives to the soldiers of Sriwijaya Military Command in the South Sumatra provincial city of Palembang on Friday, the minister stated that the government had yet to procure the Alutsista. \"The procurement of Alutsista must be adjusted according to the demand in order to be right on target and to also strengthen the roles and tasks of the soldiers in maintaining regional integrity,\" Ryacudu noted. When questioned about the program outlined by the minister of marine affairs and fisheries, the defense minister noted that it should be supported as Indonesia has an extensively large maritime territory. Ryacudu affirmed that the military should support the marine affairs and fisheries minister\'s program, including the efforts to eradicate illegal fishing practices in the nation\'s territorial waters.
