Jember-Surabaya First Flight Tickets Sold Out

Jember, E Java (Antara) - First return flight tickets of Garuda plane from Jember's Notohadinegoro Airport to Surabaya in East Java for July 16 and 17, 2014, departures have already been sold out, stated Banyuwangi-Jember Area Manager Boedi Prihantoro. "Since ticket reservations opened on June 23, all seats for the to and fro flights between Jember and Surabaya on July 16 and 17 had been fully booked," Prihantoro noted here on Wednesday. He remarked that the Notohadinegoro Airport on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, commenced formal operations, as the 70-seater ATR 72-600 airplane of Garuda makes its maiden flight to Juanda Airport in Surabaya. "With all seats fully booked for the maiden flight of Garuda plane, it shows that the residents of Jember are very enthusiastic about the Notohadinegoro Airport becoming operational," Prihantoro remarked. According to Prihantoro, the ticket fare for the national flag carrier, Garuda, from Jember to Surabaya is Rp279 thousand per passenger and Rp350 thousand per passenger from Surabaya to Jember. "For the time being, Garuda only serves one return flight per day while waiting for the market to develop further," he stated, adding that the Notohadinegoro Airport's opening ceremony was attended by Transportation Deputy Minister Bambang Susantono, Garuda Marketing Director Erik Meijer, and Garuda Vice President of Domestic Region-3 for Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara Ari Suryanta.(*)
