Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - The Surabaya and South Tangerang city administrations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the development of intercity networks at the Surabaya City Hall on Tuesday. Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini and her South Tangerang counterpart Airin Rachmi Diany have signed the MoU in the presence of a number of officials from the two cities. Chief of the Surabaya city administration's cooperation section Ifron Hady Susanto said the indicator of future cities should not be viewed only from technological progress but the manner in which the cities have formed intercity networks as well. "Surabaya has applied the concept of intercity networks with many cities both domestic and foreign," he said. Ifron said Surabaya currently had sister city cooperation with eight foreign cities and tens of domestic cities, with the aim of forming mutually beneficial intercity cooperation. Airin said the visit of the South Tangerang city delegation to Surabaya was aimed at learning city management. Surabaya was known for its success in conducting good city management, she said. Meanwhile, Tri Rismaharini spoke of government resources management system. She said development activities in Surabaya were carried out based on public proposals. "After public proposals are approved through e-development planning deliberation, they are processed through e-budgeting and planning.
