ITS Robot to Represent Indonesia in Asia Pacific Contest

Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - A robot from Surabaya-based 10 November Institute of Technology (ITS) won a medal at the 2014 Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI) held at the Yogyakarta State University on June 26. By winning the contest, the ITS team that designed the robot has been named to represent Indonesia in the Asia Pacific robot contest to be held in India in August, ITS said in a statement released on Saturday. The ITS's RINE robot bested El-Tron of the Surabaya-based State Electronic Polytechnic (PENS) in the KRAI 2014 finals, the statement noted. In the ITS finals, RINE successfully printed "shabassh" in 1 minute and 14 seconds, beating out El-Tron. The 2014 KRAI is themed "Indonesian Children's Playground" which refers to ABU Robocon 2014, an Asia Pacific robot contest. The theme of the Asia Pacific robot contest is, "A Salute to Parenthood".
