Jakarta, March 13 (Antara) - The Attorney General's Office on Thursday arrested former president director of state-owned television station (TVRI) Sumita Tobing, who has been at large for over a year. Tobing was arrested at the head office of private television station Jaktv on the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) premises in Central Jakarta at 11:50 a.m., spokesman of the Attorney General's Office Setia Untung Arimuladi said. "A team of officers from the Attorney General's Office, the Jakarta provincial public prosecutor's office and the Central Jakarta district public prosecutor's office arrested (the fugitive), who was placed on the wanted list in September 2012," he remarked. Tobing and other officials were proven guilty of being involved in a graft case related to the procurement of broadcast instruments, which led to a state loss of Rp12.4 billion. She was sentenced to one year and six months in jail and required to pay a Rp250 million fine or serve an additional six months in prison. The Attorney General's Office failed to execute Tobing's sentence on May 2, 2012, due to two different case numbers being registered at the Supreme Court at the time. In its verdict dated January 6, 2011, the appeal court had declared Tobing guilty and confirmed a sentence of one and a half year of imprisonment. The Supreme Court had previously acquitted her of all charges on its website on August 28, 2009. The Attorney General's Office later wrote to the Supreme Court to ask about the different registry numbers. (*) Reporting by Riza Fahriza
