Kuta, Bali (Antara) - Indonesia is hosting the 34th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS) in Kuta, Bali, from October 20 to October 24.
As the host, Indonesia will benefit greatly from the conference, said Bambang S Tejakusuma, Head of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (Lapan), here on Monday.
"One of the benefits is that Indonesia, particularly Bali, will see an increase in the number of tourist arrivals," he stated.
While in Bali, participants of the 34th ACRS will visit a number of tourist sites in the world-renowned island, he explained.
The conference aims to enhance cooperation, togetherness, and brotherhood among stakeholders of remote sensing technology in Asia.
The five-day conference will have several special sessions on topics such as the satellite program to discuss the latest developments in satellite and remote sensing technology. The conference will also have programs for students and young researchers to encourage cooperation between them and increase the capacity of human resources.
As a mark of appreciation to achievers in the field of remote sensing, the event's organizing committee will also hold a general ACRS meeting, which serves as a meeting of remote sensing associations to discuss and implement the results of the ACRS and other programs related to hospitality, culture, and nature.
