Jakarta (Antara) - Johannes Widjonarko was named head of upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas here on Wednesday to replace Rudi Rubiandini who was earlier named suspect in a bribery case by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). "Johannes' appointment was made in line with the Presidential decree to avoid vacuum in the oil and gas industry," Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik told newsmen. He said Rudi Rubiandini had been discharged as head of SKK Migas and had been replaced by his deputy, Johannes Widjonarko in line with a presidential decision. He hoped with the presidential decision, private companies would not become hesitant to continue doing their businesses in Indonesia as the new head of SKK Migas would carry out the job as usual. Jero admitted he could not believe that Rudi had been involved in a bribery case along with Kernel Oil Pte. Ltd, adding he was shocked by the news of his arrest by the KPK. "I was shocked. I could not believe it," he said. He said because of that Rudi Rubiandini had been discharged. (*)
