Kites Competitions Set as Tourism Annual Agenda

Pariaman, W Sumatra (Antara) - West Sumatra provincial city of Pariaman plans to set the "danguang (nice sound) kites" competition as the tourism annual agenda, the city mayor said.
Owing to its large potential to attract tourists to Pariaman, this kind of kites competition should be further developed, the city mayor, Mukhlis Rahman said here on Saturday.
The "danguang" kites is one of the traditional kites in the city and Padang Pariaman District, Mukhlis noted, adding that the kites competition is also aimed at showing the cultural preservation event.
The mayor also asked his staffs to manage such competition in order to set it to become the city annual tourism package. (*)
