Denpasar (Antara) - All access to Bali island will be closed next Tuesday (March 12) to honor Hindu's Day of Silence Nyepi, spokesman to Bali province's administrative government I Ketut Teneng said said here on Wednesday. He said Ngurah Rai International airport and six seaports in the province will not give service for 24 hours of Nyepi day. "Bali Governor have sent notification letters to airport and seaport management about the temporary halt of transportation services during Nyepi day," he added. Nyepi is one of the religious celebrations for Balinese Hindus to enable them to have a meditation on tranquility. The Day of Silence is observed strictly in Bali in accordance with Hinduism embraced by the people on the island where Hinduism in the biggest religion. Based on Balinese Hinduism faith, during the holiday the people are not allowed to perform four prohibitions, namely those linked with fire (electricity), working activity, travel and entertainment (music and dancing).
