Jakarta - The National Police (Polri) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) share a common spirit in fighting corruption, a police spokesman said here Saturday. "We, in fact, share a common spirit, though there are several views portraying the KPK and Polri as being in trouble. The relations between Polri and KPK are more about working together," said Boy Rafli Amar during a discussion on "KPK vs Polri - A Dream of Corruption Eradication" organized by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI). He added that the anti-graft body and the police need the public's support in carrying out their tasks to combat corruption. The police spokesman also asked Muslim leaders to preach about ending corruption to the public. "This is the role of the community, namely to remind the people to act to prevent corruption," he said. He added that those who are evil often persuade others in official positions to participate in corruption, therefore it is important to strengthen the faith, he added. He also urged the younger generation to be an honorable generation. (*)
