Makassar, S Sulawesi - Vice President Boediono has called for an all-out war against drug-related crimes, saying they can destroy an individual, family, community, and even a nation. "All parties must have a commitment to waging an all-out, systematic, integrated, and coordinated war against drug-related crimes," the vice president said at a function to observe International Anti Drugs Day 2012 here on Tuesday. According to the UN General Assembly, June 26 is declared as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The day is to be dedicated to seeking stronger actions to combat drug addictions and working to create a world free of drugs. Present on the occasion were National Narcotic Board Chief Gories Mere, Education and Culture Minister M Nuh, Vice Religious Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Vice Law and Human Rights Minister Denny Indrayanam and South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The vice president noted that the fight against drug-related crimes was the responsibility of all elements in the country.(*)
