Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto highlighted his commitment to maintaining good relations between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a meeting with the UAE President, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ).
The meeting between the two leaders took place at Qasr Al Watan Palace, Abu Dhabi, on Saturday (November 23) local time.
"Your Highness experience and leadership in every field, especially in development and geopolitics are very meaningful," Prabowo said at the meeting, as shown in a video uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday.
Prabowo underlined that the two countries have had good relations for a long time, even before he was inaugurated as the President of Indonesia.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), I have been trusted by the people to lead the Indonesian nation and I want to continue the good relations," he said.
President Prabowo also noted that he wanted to learn from President MBZ in making breakthroughs for the country.
"We Indonesians see Your Highness as a very successful leader, a leader who has a long-term vision that has been proven to be able to bring rapid modernization to the Emirates," he remarked.
During the bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and President MBZ, the two leaders witnessed the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
The MoUs include agreements in several fields, such as industry and advanced technology, energy, health, tourism, mining and infrastructure, as well as government development and renewal.
President Prabowo's visit to the UAE was the last stop of the series of his state visits to several countries.
Earlier, he had visited China to meet President Xi Jinping, the United States (US) to meet President Joe Biden, and the United Kingdom (UK) to meet King Charles III and the Prime Minister of the UK, Keir Starmer.
The president also attended the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil.
