Rani Andriani Buried in Her Home Village in Cianjur

Cianjur, West Java (Antara) - Family members cried upon receiving the body of Rani Andriani in her home village of Ciranjang in Cianjur, West Java, on Sunday following her execution over a drug crime in Nusakambangan at midnight on Saturday.
Upon arrival at around 11.30 am Rani's body was immediately taken to one of the mushollas (small mosques) belonging to her family near the family cemetery where she was buried where a prayer ceremony was held for her.
Afterwards her body was presented to her family by an official from the Tangerang prosecutor's office where she had so far spent her time ahead of her execution.
Dozens of military (TNI) and police personnel were seen standing by to assure smooth process and security.
Cianjur police chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Dedy Kusuma Bakti said he had taken the measure to assure the smooth process of burial.
Rani was buried beside the tomb of her mother, Nani, who died in 2006 in the family cemetery where six other tombs of her relatives were already there.
Thousands of villagers had come to the location to see closely the process of Rani's burial.
Rani was one of the six narcotic convicts on death row who were executed at midnight on Saturday after their request for a clemency was denied by President Joko Widodo.
The five other convicts were Marco Archer Cordosa from Brazil, Ang Kiem Soei alias Tommy Wijaya from the Netherlands, Namaona Denis from Malawi, Daniel Enemuo from Nigeria and Tran Thi Bich Hanh from Vietnam, Except Tran Thi Bich Hanh who was executed in Boyolali others were executed in Nusakambangan which is also in Central Java.
