Jakarta (Antara) - Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will soon send memos to all ministers to inform them about the outcome of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's attendance at the recently-concluded APEC, ASEAN and G-20 summits.
"The foreign minister will issue the memos soon," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Sofyan Djalil said at a press conference after a plenary cabinet meeting at the presidential office here on Monday.
The memos are important to inform the ministers about the president's commitment towards his three-nation tour, which took him to China, Myanmar and Australia, he stated.
This way, each minister can follow up on the president's commitments through their respective fields, he added.
Djalil told the press earlier in the day that there were many things to be done to follow up on President Jokowi's attendance at the three summits.
"There are a lot of things to be followed up on," he affirmed, adding that these were particularly related to infrastructure development.
During the summits, Jokowi also campaigned for his vision of transforming Indonesia into a global maritime axis, Djalil noted.
A number of nations have expressed their interest in establishing cooperation in maritime-related activities with the Indonesian government since Jokowi revealed his maritime axis vision a month ago.
Among the interested nations are the United States, Japan, China, Australia, the Netherlands, and France.
Jokowi received maritime cooperation offers from major nations when he attended the APEC Summit in Beijing, China, on November 10 and11, the 25th ASEAN Summit and the Ninth East Asian Summit in Myanmar on November 12 and 13, and the G-20 Summit in Brisbane, Australia, on November 15 and 16.
During his debut at these summits, Jokowi showcased his vision of transforming Indonesia into a global maritime axis before several world leaders.
"Indonesia, a maritime nation, wants to become a global maritime axis, which can bring prosperity to its people," the president declared during the plenary session of the EAS in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on November 13.(*)
