Jakarta (Antara) - Deputy Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro stated that the 5.3 percent inflation target of 2014 can be realized considering the achievement made so far by the government in controlling the price of basic foodstuff. "If you look to the end of the year predictions, expectations should be below five percent," Bambang announced at the Parliament on Monday. Bambang's estimate on the inflation at the end of the year is inseparable from the August inflation rate of 0.47 percent lower than that in previous years. That way, the calendar year inflation rate from January to August 2014 is 3.42 percent, and the annual basis (yoy) inflation was recorded at 3.99 percent. "With the 'year to date' rate of 3.42 percent, we could be under five percent by the end of the year," said Bambang. (*)
