Moderte Earthquake Hits Bengkulu

Bandarlampung, Lampung (Antara) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) has recorded an earthquake measuring 5.l on Richter scale in Mukomuko, Bengkulu Province at 4.25 a.m. on Saturday. Yusman, the BMKG chief for Kotabumi, Lampung, said the earthquake took place at the coordinate of 8.09 degrees southern latitude and 101.22 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 13 km. It is located in the southern part of Sumatra, some 53 km southwest of Mukomuko, 84 km northwest of North Bengkulu, 113 northwest of Lebong, 139 km northwest of Bengkulu and 710 km northwest of Jakarta. The BMKG said the quake had no potential to create a tsunami. (*)
