Jakarta (Antara) - The electability of presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has increased again, Pramono Anung, PDIP former secretary general, said. "The electability of Mr Jokowi did not decline but had remained stagnant. However, his electability is rebounding," Pramono said here on Wednesday. He made the remarks in response to a reporter's question on the results of a survey that had reportedly shown a decline in Jokowi's electability. Pramono, who is also a deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), said that Jokowi's electability remained stagnant because of massive black campaigns to malign his reputation. But the black campaigns had adversely fueled the machines of political parties supporting the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla (KJ) to work harder, Pramono added. The Jakarta Survey Institute (LSJ) on Tuesday had released the results of a recent survey, indicating that the electability of presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has exceeded that of Jokowi. "The Prabowo-Hatta pair has a 47.5 percent electability statistics, while the Jokowi-JK duo has 41.3 percent," LSJ senior researcher Ikhsan Rosidi said in a written statement here on Tuesday. (*)
