Jakarta (Antara) - The prosecutor demanded a 10-years' imprisonment for former Sports Minister Andi Mallarangeng on charge of corruption. The prosecutor also asked the anti corruption court to punish Andi with a Rp2.5 billion compensation and a Rp300 million fine or additional jail terms of 2 years and 6 months respectively. Prosecutor Supardi read his indictment here on Monday charging Andi with corruption. Supardi said Andi did not cooperate in the process of eradicating corruption by denying all charges against him . Andi was implicated in his brother Choel Mallarangeng receiving money from officials and contractors of the Hambalang sport center project. Andi, however, denied knowledge about the money given to his brother. Supardi said it was impossible that Andi was not aware of the meeting between Choel and the alleged bribers as he was the one to introduce Choel to the alleged bribers. Andi asked the court to give him time to study the prosecutor's indictment. The next court session will be held on July 10 to hear Andi's plea.
