Beijing (Antara) - Traditional Indonesian batiks displayed by the Indonesian embassy at a bazaar, which was held by China's foreign affairs ministry here on Saturday, attracted many foreigners, including local Chinese. "I bought a batik shirt last year because I liked it, and now I will buy one again," said Wang Li, while sorting through batik scarves at the bazaar on Saturday. During the bazaar, the Indonesian embassy displayed batiks, bags, shoes, leather belts, a variety of batik souvenirs, as well as typical dishes of fried rice, including chicken satay. "Batik materials are comfortable, and their designs are diverse. I like batiks," Mei San, from Beijing's Chaoyang District, said. Antara learned that most of the visitors at the Indonesian booth prefer batik scarves, with the price ranging from 100 to 400 yuan. The batiks exhibited were made in Surabaya, Pekalongan, Cirebon and other regions in Indonesia. The bazaar included some 100 representatives of foreign countries, international organizations and Chinese firms. (*)
