Nanning, China (Antara) - Yogyakarta, as one of the Cities of Charm at the 10th China-ASEAN Expo being held from September 3 to 6 in Nanning, Guangxi autonomous region, China, is seeking Chinese investment for various projects in the region. China is being particularly encouraged to invest in the development of the Kulon Progo international airport, which will have an annual capacity of 30 million passengers, said an Antara report received from Nanning on Tuesday. As per the information collected from the Indonesian stand at the China-ASEAN trade and industry exhibition (CAEXPO IX), Chinese investment is being sought for the development of the airport¿s apron, terminal building, and the air traffic control (ATC) system. China is also being encouraged to invest in the development of Bantul tourist area, Malioboro area, Gunung Kidul tourist area, Adikarto fish ports, freshwater fish cultivation, as well as the sports and entertainment center in Maguwoharjo stadium. Earlier, Pradnyawati, Director of Promotion and Image Building at the Ministry of Trade, said her office helped 97 small and medium businesses participate in the 10th CAEXPO in Guangxi, adding that it would also set up 120 booths, including 12 special booths where Indonesian coffee products will be offered. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations consists of 10 member countries: Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Vietnam. (*)
