Jakarta - The government through the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) will socialize reproductive health in stages to the Junior High School students. "The socialization will be adjusted to the psychological development of junior high students," Acting Head of BKKBN Sudibyo Alimoeso said here on Monday. He said, the government needs to socialize reproductive health because some sexual violence occurred to teenagers in Indonesia. "This program is preventive and promotive step of the sexual violence problem," Alimoeso said. BKKBN has socialized the reproductive health to Senior High School student through information center and reproductive health counseling (PIK-KR) program. Alimoeso expected the students get two things through PIK-KR program. First, the teenagers know well about reproductive health earlier, so they know what they should do for their reproductive health. Then, the counseling program expected to reduce sexual activity before marriage in teenagers that can reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies cases. Alimoeso said, the important thing to implement the program is cooperation between parents, community and government. (*)
