Jakarta - An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale jolted Sibolga, North Sumatra, on Thursday at 07.41 am local time. According to the Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 1.45 degree of Northern Latitude and 98.82 degree of Western Longitude, or 29km southwest of Sibolga, 241km southwest of Medan, or 1,224km northwest of Jakarta, at the depth of 84km. The earthquake has no tsunami potential.(*)
