Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto offered encouragement and moral support to victims of a free nutritious meal (MBG) delivery vehicle accident on December 11, which occurred at public elementary school SDN 01 Kalibaru, Cilincing, Jakarta.
The President visited the victims receiving treatment at Koja Regional Hospital on Tuesday. During the visit, he greeted the patients one by one, especially children and teaching staff, while delivering messages of strength and optimism as they undergo recovery.
One student being treated in the pediatric intensive care unit following facial reconstructive surgery. The President conveyed his prayers and hopes for the child’s swift recovery.
“Get well soon. Once you recover, you can eat again. Take good care of yourself, you’re brave,” he said, according to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat.
According to the statement, the President’s presence served as a source of encouragement for patients and their families. A total of nine victims had been treated at Koja Hospital, with six already discharged, while three remain under intensive medical supervision.
During the visit, Prabowo also met the teacher undergoing post-surgery treatment for a broken leg, as well as the student who remains hospitalized but whose condition has been reported as increasingly stable.
Prabowo also listened to explanations from the medical team regarding the progress of the victims’ conditions.
Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana conveyed his report on the MBG delivery vehicle accident to President Prabowo on Monday (December 15).
A total of 22 individuals were injured in the incident. After approximately six hours of observation on the same day, 10 students were allowed to return home.
Eight students and one teacher required treatment at the Koja Hospital, while three students were treated at Cilincing Hospital.
